Tinika Graduated from UNITEC 2001(NZ) with a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. In 2002 -2005 she worked in the UK and Canada in referral, emergency and general practices.

 

Since then she has worked intermittently for UQ as a tutor and a veterinary nurse with a brief stint in Dublin, Ireland working in a primary practice before joining UQ VETS as a fulltime anaesthesia technician in 2015. Tinika currently works at The University of Queensland Veterinary Medical Centre as an anaesthesia technician.

 

In 2009, Tinika gained Veterinary Technician Specialization (VTS) in Small Animal Internal Medicine and in 2011 gained a VTS in Emergency and Critical Care.

 

Tinika currently serves on the exam committee for the Academy Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians.

 

In 2015 Tinika was awarded the Best Technician Case Report at the International Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Symposium held in Washington DC.
