Jane Sykes is a Professor of Small Animal Medicine at the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine with a special interest in canine and feline infectious diseases. She obtained her veterinary degree and PhD at the University of Melbourne in Australia, and her residency in small animal internal medicine at the University of Minnesota. She is Board-Certified in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and Chief Veterinary Medical Officer for the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. She has coauthored more than 90 peer-reviewed publications, is the editor of the Elsevier textbook “Canine and Feline Infectious Diseases”, and of the upcoming edition of “Greene’s Infectious Diseases of the Dog and Cat”. She is Associate Editor (Infectious Diseases) of the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Her research interests are focused on fungal diseases, antimicrobial resistance, vector-borne diseases, and bloodstream infections.
