Complex fractures of the long bones can be intimidating in dogs and cats. Accurate and appropriate surgical repair is mandatory for a successful outcome and avoidance of complications. This interactive course includes lectures and laboratories to teach participants the techniques of repair of complex fractures in large dogs, toy breed dogs and cats. Participants will repair complex fractures of the femur, tibia, humerus and radius on plastic bones using state of the art equipment and implants.
Participants will use locking plate technology to simplify, increase precision and reduce complications of the procedure. This course is appropriate for specialists, residents, interns and general practitioners with orthopedic experience and an interest in advancing their decision-making skills and treatment of patients having pelvic trauma.
